"This work took me the longest time, and it took me more than a month before and after."

talking about the original intention of making this series of works containing Hefei elements, Liu Yang said, "Hefei has changed greatly in the past five years, becoming more and more beautiful, and there are more and more landmark buildings. Our people's lives are becoming happier and happier. Although I'm not from Hefei, I love this city from the bottom of my heart. Why not 'cut' this increasingly beautiful city?" So from the end of August 2017, Liu Yang began to conceive, draw and revise the manuscript... Repeatedly, and finally completed the creation of this work before October

Liu Yang is from Xiaoxian county. In her 30s, she learned to draw patterns from her neighbor's grandmother when she was young. "Patterns were used for embroidery at that time. Because her neighbor's grandmother was old and thought I had good painting skills, she taught me this craft." Now, as the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of paper cutting, Liu Yang lives in Hefei with his husband, and has also opened his own studio, and taught the children in the community to learn paper cutting for free. "I like the environment of Hefei very much, and I also like to teach this craft to children."

"I need to cut a few more of these works to put in many elements of Hefei. Although it is not easy, it has a sense of achievement." Liu Yang said with a smile that local intangible cultural heritage heirs are welcome to contact him and are expected to create a series of Hefei element paper cutting works by 2017
